"I think the judging, the judging chair position and the appearance of the judging to the general audience is crucial, and it was very well done in Windsor. I know what a thankless job judging is and how hard the judges work (often to be yelled at by outraged ETA's and fans)"

A note from Edie Curtin - Director of the 2007 Windsor Elvisfest

Dear Mary, Burt, Wendy, Heather & Nevin:

We worked you hard and you deserve the best ever judges award!

I finally understand about the hauling - the computers the whole deal. Sometimes it takes me longer - but once I get it - I understand. I still laugh about the number of judging sheets the 1st year.

I am making all kinds of recommendations for next year and would love your input. I am asking for honorariums for the judges to make sure that your food and travel costs are covered. Please advise about any other things you think should be looked after. I know that we could never afford the actual hours that you put in but I will recommend that you are at least reimbursed for gas & food etc.

As you know Kings Court will be doing the Elvis Festival again next year - I am so sad that I won't be the director again as I have this HUGE vision of how I want things to be - but I will volunteer when and wherever I can.

Thank you for taking the stress out of the judging department and doing such a wonderful, fantastic, superb, magnificent & charming job.

I look forward to seeing you in the future.

Best regards
Edie

... and something from Jeff Marsh - King of Kitchener 2006

To Whom it may concern,

I am writing this letter to say that Wendy King was one of the judges at my contest , The King Of Kitchener, held here in Kitchener this past September.

I would like to say that Wendy is very knowledgeble when it comes to Elvis, and was a very fair judge when it came to comparing the ETA's performance to Elvis'.

I also found she was very approachable to the guys and the fans too, and always found time to chat with whomever approached her. In the case of the ETA's, she was very helpful if they wanted her to explain why she marked them the way she did.

Overall, her judging was top quality and Wendy herself was a joy to be around and I am thankful to call her my friend.

I have met many times and and have come to know the other people that are part of the King’s Court Judging Panel. I have attended many contests with the King's Court as judges and always found them to be very knowledgeble and fair. Over the weekend of the Angus Festival I found the entire King’s Court very professional and they treated everyone with a great deal of respect and courtesy.

Due to other commitments by the other members, Wendy King was the only member of the King’s Court to be on my judging panel for the King Of Kitchener Contest in 2006. However in September 2007, the entire King’s Court are officially my judging panel.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at 519-342-8006

Thank You very much.

Jeff Marsh

Chairman : King Of Kitchener

Dear Mary & Burt:

We can't thank you enough for doing such a fabulous job at the Windsor Elvisfest.  It was a great start for us and I can honestly say that we couldn't have done it without you.  You added the professionalism needed to give us credibility in our first year.  It was a pleasure working with you.  We appreciated your good nature and your great suggestions made the judging run like a well oiled machine.

I look forward to seeing you in Collingwood and will give you the details of our accommodations.

We look forward to a long relationship with you both.

Thanks again,
Sincerely
Edie Curtin
